Jianai signs MOU with RMIT University to advance responsible AI in life sciences research

June 23, 2026

Melbourne, Australia - Jianai, the AI infrastructure platform purpose-built for the life sciences innovation pipeline, announced the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with RMIT University’s Artificial Intelligence Advanced Innovation Experience (RAIsE) Hub.

The MOU, signed on 23rd June 2026 ahead of Jianai's platform launch at the JUMAR Biotech Incubator in Melbourne, aims to advance AI innovation and capability across research, translation and commercialisation, supported by responsible AI practices, governance and trust. Representatives from RAIsE Hub attended the launch, where the partnership was publicly highlighted before an audience of researchers, industry leaders, startups, and university partners.

The agreement connects Jianai's AI-native life sciences platform with RMIT's research expertise in artificial intelligence, natural language processing, and responsible AI design, reflecting a shared commitment to ensuring AI capability in research is matched by robust governance.

Nigel Blair said, "This partnership with RAIsE Hub and RMIT University is an important milestone for Jianai. As AI becomes increasingly embedded in research and commercialisation, capability alone is not enough - governance and trust have to be built in from the ground up. RMIT brings deep expertise in responsible AI design, and this collaboration strengthens our ability to deliver a platform institutions can trust with their most sensitive research. We are building for universal care for all, and partnerships like this are core to how we get there."

RAIsE Hub Director, Professor Rahil Garnavi said, " AI has enormous potential to accelerate research, innovation and translation across the life sciences. Through this partnership, we look forward to combining RMIT's AI expertise with Jianai's platform and industry focus to explore new technological opportunities, while also building the capability and responsible practices needed to translate AI into real-world impact. "
